Dr. Antonios Pettas / Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Antonios Pettas was born in Thessaloniki in 1981. He graduated from the Comenius University Medical School in Bratislava, Slovakia.
After his military service as a physician, he began his career in Sweden working at the transplant clinic of the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
He then obtained his specialization in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology in Stockholm in 2014 from the Norrtälje, Danderyd and Karolinska University Hospital Hospitals. In the same year, he specialized in foot surgery at the private Nacka Hospital in Stockholm and then, in 2016, in Basel, Switzerland next to the world-renowned professor Hintermann. He was also trained in Traumatology and Ilizarov surgery at the largest trauma centers in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Hamburg.
Since 2015, he has been responsible for foot and ankle surgery at Norrtälje Hospital in Stockholm. In the same year, he began operating in various hospitals in Sweden and Finland.
From mid-2016 to 2019, he worked as a Senior Consultant in Orthopedics and Traumatology for the companies Läkarjouren, Dedicare, Mediate Nordic, Vårdbemanning Sverige in private clinics and state hospitals in Sweden and Finland.
From 2019 to 2021, he collaborated with the Specialist Center Scandinavia clinic in Stockholm, Eskilstuna, Uppsala, where he operated exclusively on patients with pathologies in the ankle and foot, where great importance is given to minimally invasive surgeries (arthroscopic procedures) such as ankle arthrodesis, triple tarsal arthrodesis, subtalar joint arthrodesis, ligament suturing.
In the same year (2019), he began practicing privately in Thessaloniki and Cyprus at the AIMIS clinic (American Institute of Minimal Invasive Surgery).
He is the President of two Cadaveric Congresses that take place in Greece every year and aim to further educate colleagues in foot and ankle surgery.
Since 2024, he has had his practice at the Scandinavian Medical Center clinic in Limassol, where he is co-founder and co-owner, and in the same year he began performing 3rd generation ankle arthroplasty surgeries in Agios Loukas.
Since 2013, he has been a scientific associate of the Stockholm Karolinska University Hospital and is a member of:

He has the ability to operate in various private clinics in Cyprus and Greece as well as operating periodically in Sweden.
He is also a founding member of the BAFAS (Balkan Foot and Ankle Society).
Finally, Dr. Antonios Pettas is fluent in English, Swedish and Russian.
