Dr. Anna Ioannou

 Dr.Anna Ioannou (ΜD,MsC) Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon was born in Nicosia. She studied in Hungary, at the University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Center from 2005 to 2011.  

During her studies, she developed a special interest in the field of Surgical Medicine, where she received a diploma of excellence from her director and mentor Prof. Iren Miko (Department of Operative Techniques and Surgical Research). She graduated from the University in 2011, with a grade ¨ Cum Laude¨.

In the same year, she successfully passed the Orthopaedic Specialty entrance exams in Cyprus. She started her residency at the Limassol General Hospital, following 6 months in the Plastic Surgery Department and 6 months in the Neurosurgery Department at the Nicosia General Hospital.

In 2017 and 2018 she had the title of representative of Orthopaedic Residency in the Cypriot Orthopaedic Society.

In 2017 in Basingstoke (UK) she received an honorary distinction of high mark in the educational seminar from AO Trauma.

Until today, she is informed about the latest involution in Orthopaedic Surgery and Biological Orthopaedics by actively taking part in international conferences and educational seminars.

In 2018, in Thessaloniki, she obtained the specialty title of Orthopaedics and Traumatology after an examination, from the Aristotle University of Medicine. At the same year she completed her master degree (Master in Orthopaedics Science and Rehabilitation) from the University of Nicosia and University of St George.

In 2019, she was nominated as a Young Member at Large at EFFORT General Assembly in Lisbon, Portugal. In the same year, she received her FIFA football diploma and was the responsible doctor of the national futsal team for men and U19, as well as, national football teams U17, U19 and Women’s national teams too. In addition, she was a first-class team doctor in Anorthosis Basketball (2021-2022). Also, she is the official doctor of the Cyprus Wrestling Federation certified by the World Wrestling Federation (UWW) to date.

Since 2020, the doctor is registered to GESY and works in a private sector covering a wide range of Orthopaedic and trauma surgery, sport injuries and Biological Orthopaedics. She is a member of the Cyprus Orthopaedic Society (CAOST), a member of Cyprus Sport Medicine Society, a member of AO Trauma, a member of the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society (ICRS), a member of ESKKA and a member of SICOT.
